Paul-Loup Chatin (born October 19, 1991 in Dourdan ) is a French racing driver . He started in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2015 .

Career

Chatin practiced winter sports professionally in his youth and was active in alpine skiing . In addition, Chatin was active in motorsport from 2006 and took part in kart races until 2010 . In 2010 he decided to switch to formula racing . In 2010 Chatin competed in the F4 Eurocup 1.6 . He won two races and was fourth overall.

In 2011 Chatin moved to Tech 1 Racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . He took a win and finished the season one position behind his teammate Javier Tarancón in ninth place in the drivers' championship. In addition, he competed in the Alpine Formula Renault for Tech 1 Racing . There he won three races and was third at the end of the season, while his team-mate Tarancón was champion. Chatin also made two guest starts in the Northern European Formula Renault . In 2012, Chatin stayed with Tech 1 Racing and contested his second season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Alpine Formula Renault. In the Eurocup he improved to sixth place and in the Alpine Formula Renault he reached third place again.

In 2013, Chatin left formula racing. In the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) he competed for the Team Endurance Challenge together with Gary Hirsch in the LMPC class. In this, the duo achieved three class wins in five races and won the championship title. He also took part in individual races in the French and Italian Porsche Carrera Cups for Tsunami RT . He won a race in each championship and was ninth overall in both. In 2014 Chatin switched to Signatech Alpine in the European Le Mans Series in the highest series class LMP2. Together with his teammates Nelson Panciatici and Oliver Webb . The three won a race and decided the drivers' championship in the LMP2 class for themselves. In endurance racing, Chatin also made his debut for Signatech Alpine at the 2014 Le Mans 24-hour race and finished seventh with Panciatici and Webb. Chatin also contested some races in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo .

In 2015 Chatin stayed with Signatech Alpine and switched to the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Panciatici was his teammate at every race. Vincent Capillaire and Tom Dillmann shared the third cockpit . At the 6-hour race in Shanghai , Chatin and Dillmann and Panciatici achieved class victory in the LMP2. Chatin and Panciatici finished the drivers' world championship in 18th place.
