Personal description was a documentary film series by ZDF in which the journalist and documentary filmmaker Georg Stefan Troller portrayed and interviewed more or less prominent people, mostly artists . Troller was the scriptwriter and director on all of the episodes . His subjective questioning has become a model for many journalists, documentary filmmakers and talk show moderators. Between 1972 and 1993 a total of 70 films were made in the series. Troller worked particularly closely with the cameraman Carl-Franz Hutterer and the editor Elfi Kreiter , whose virtuosity helped shape the films. The duration of the individual episodes is between around 30 and 45 minutes. The series personal description was not assigned to a fixed editorial office and had no fixed broadcasting slot; the films ran both the evening before and in the late-night program.
The first episode, Dory Previn - A Life in Hollywood , about the ex-wife of Frank Sinatra and André Previn , aired on April 3, 1972. First, the film should God showman in San Francisco - Reverend Williams about the hippie - Pastor sent Cecil Williams. However, the film was withdrawn because, according to Troller, there were scenes that showed that paraplegics are also capable of physical love. It ran a month later.
