Peter Lühr (born May 3, 1906 in Hamburg , † March 15, 1988 in Munich ) was a German actor and voice actor .
Life
Peter Lühr was born into a merchant family and graduated from high school at the age of 17. He then took acting lessons from Arnold Marlé in Hamburg . Various engagements followed in Dessau , Kassel , Düsseldorf (with Walter Bruno Iltz ) and Leipzig . From 1947 Lühr belonged to the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele . Lühr also gave acting lessons and directed, but his passion was acting. As a voice actor he lent a. a. Michael Gough (in Royal Love ) and Laurence Olivier (in Hamlet ) his voice.
Because of his performance as Tarragon alongside Thomas Holtzmann as Wladimir in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot , directed by George Tabori , this production of the Münchner Kammerspiele was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 1984 . In 1983 he shone in the title role of Dieter Dorn's production of Merlin (Tankred Dorst, with Ursula Ehler), a theatrical sensation at the Kammerspiele, which lasted two evenings. In 1987 Dieter Dorn's production of William Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida was also invited to the Theatertreffen . a. next to Sunnyi Melles embodied Pandarus. In Dorn's production of Goethe's Faust I , shortly before his death, he spoke with great force the appropriation that Rolf Boysen took on in the film adaptation the following year .
With regard to the reception of his achievements, Lühr was referred to as a so-called actor of age, since with increasing age his role representations became more concise, differentiated and deep. In 1981 Lühr received the cultural honorary award of the state capital Munich .
As an acting teacher he has u. a. Mario Adorf teaches and influences.
On the occasion of his 100th birthday, a special exhibition entitled Peter Lühr - The Unforgettable Roles was shown in the Deutsches Theatermuseum (formerly the Clara Ziegler Foundation ) from June 2 to June 17, 2006 .
