Peter Mirow

Peter Mirow (born July 7, 1968 in Hamburg ) is a brigadier general of the Army of the Bundeswehr and the commander of the Franco-German brigade in Müllheim .

Military career

Training and first uses

Mirow joined the Bundeswehr in 1987 in the 67th Jäger Battalion in Breitenburg . He completed the three-year training as an officer in the hunter troop . Then from 1990 to 1994 he studied history at the Helmut Schmidt University - University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, which he completed with a Magister Artium . From 1994 to 1998 he was employed as platoon leader and company commander of the 4th Company of Jäger Battalion 292 in Donaueschingen . From 1998 to 2000 a post as a lecture hall leader and troop teacher at the infantry school in Hammelburg followed . From 2000 to 2002 Mirow was trained as an officer in the general staff in the 43rd general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg .

Service as a staff officer

After completing the German general staff course, Mirow took part in the French general staff course in Paris for two years . The first employment as a staff officer led Mirow as a general staff officer for training and exercises (G 3) in the command operational leadership intervention forces in Ulm . From 2005 to 2008 he was employed as a personnel manager in the personnel office of the Bundeswehr in Cologne . This was followed by a ministerial assignment from 2008 to 2010 as a consultant in the command staff of the Army in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn . From June 2010 to June 2012 Mirow led the Jäger Battalion 292 in Donaueschingen as battalion commander . Then he was employed as head of the Central Tasks department in the office of the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr , then General Volker Wieker , in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin .

Service as a general

On December 1, 2016, Mirow took over the post of Brigadier General Josef Niebecker as Head of Planning in the Army Command . On this post he was also promoted to brigadier general. He handed over this post to Colonel Stefan Zeyen in October 2018 to become the Force Commander of the European Union Training Mission in Mali on November 12, 2018. He handed over this post to the Austrian brigadier Christian Habersatter on June 12, 2019 . On September 12, 2019, he took over command of the Franco-German brigade in Müllheim from the French Général de brigade Bertrand Boyard.
