Heico Hübner (born June 3, 1968 in Bielefeld ) is a German officer, Brigadier General of the Army of the German Armed Forces and since July 7, 2018 office manager of the General Inspector of the German Armed Forces.

Military career

Training and first uses

Promotions

In 1987, Hübner joined the Bundeswehr as a conscript in the 212 Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Augustdorf . From 1987 to 1990 he was trained as a Panzer Grenadier Officer in the Panzer Grenadier Battalion 13 in Wesendorf . From 1990 to 1991, Hübner was again used as a platoon leader in the 212 Panzer Grenadier Battalion. He then studied business administration at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg from 1991 to 1995 . After completing his studies, Hübner was again used as a platoon leader with the 212 Panzer Grenadier Battalion from 1995 to 1997. This was followed by employment as a company commander of the 2nd / Panzer Grenadier Battalion 332. From 2000 to 2001, Huebner was lecture hall director at the UN training center of the Bundeswehr in Hammelburg .

Service as a staff officer

From 2001 to 2003, Hübner completed general staff training at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. His first assignment as a staff officer led him as a planning staff officer G3 to the Army Command in Koblenz . From 2005 to 2006, Hübner completed the American General Staff Training at the US Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth ( Kansas ), USA . He then worked as a consultant (Fü H III 2) in the command staff of the army at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn . From 2009 to 2011, Hübner commanded the Panzer Grenadier Battalion 212. In 2012, he was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin as a staff officer at the head of the planning staff . In the same year he became Deputy Adjutant to the Federal Minister of Defense , Thomas de Maizière . From 2013 to 2016 he was adjutant to the subsequent Federal Minister of Defense, Ursula von der Leyen .

Service as a general

On December 9, 2016, Hübner took over command of Panzerbrigade 21 “ Lipperland ” in Augustdorf from Brigadier General Kai Rohrschneider . At this post, he was promoted to brigadier general. On June 7, 2018, he handed over this post to Colonel Ansgar Meyer and, as the successor to Brigadier General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart, he became office manager of the inspector general of the Bundeswehr General Eberhard Zorn in the Federal Ministry of Defense at the Berlin headquarters.
