Career

society

Tschernegg began his career with his youth club, FC St. Nikolai im Sausal . From there he moved to the youth department of SK Sturm Graz in 2000 and went through the individual youth departments of AKA Styria . In 2010 he made the leap into the amateur team of SK Sturm Graz. There he completed the first 31 games in the men's area in the Regionalliga Mitte, where he also scored two goals. In July 2011 Tschernegg moved to the then second division club SV Grödig . There he made the breakthrough in the first team and in the 2012/13 season promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga. After a strong 2013/14 season and several appointments to the U-21 national team, he aroused the interest of several Bundesliga clubs. Ultimately, he moved to Wolfsberger AC in the summer of 2014/15 without a transfer (75,000 euros training compensation to Sturm Graz) . There he fell out for a long time, as he had to suffer a cruciate ligament rupture in preparation against the Croatian club RNK Split after a duel .

In July 2017 he moved to Switzerland to FC St. Gallen , where he received a contract valid until June 2019.

In January 2019 he returned to Austria and switched to TSV Hartberg , where he received a contract that ran until June 2020. In one and a half years at Hartberg, he made twelve Bundesliga appearances for the Styrians. After his contract ended, he left the club after the 2019/20 season.

He then moved to the second division team Grazer AK for the 2020/21 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.

National team

Tschernegg went through almost all youth national teams and also came to international matches. He made his debut for the U-21 national team on October 14, 2013 against the Netherlands with a 3-0 win.
