Philipp Huber

Philipp Eugen Huber (born June 22, 1878 in Trippstadt ; † between 1938 and 1941) was a German architect and director of the Cologne Building Trade School .

Life

family

Huber was a son of the postman , businessman and farmer Philipp Huber and his wife Lina Huber born. Kettering. From his on October 4, 1909 with Christine, geb. Huber, married have a son and a daughter.

education and profession

After attending the five-class elementary school in Trippstadt, Huber switched to the Kaiserslautern district secondary school . From 1896 Huber successfully attended the industrial school in Augsburg , which he left with a certificate dated July 14, 1898. With this qualification, he could study the architecture at the Technical University of Munich record, which he on 10 August 1903, the diploma graduated -Hauptprüfung.

On November 30, 1904, Huber was employed as an architect and site manager in the office of the renowned architect Rudolf Zahn in Berlin-Charlottenburg . On April 1, 1907, he moved in the same capacity to the outstanding Augsburg architectural office of Walter Krauss and Hermann Dürr . He held this position until September 30, 1908.

At the beginning of the winter semester 1908/1909 Huber became an assistant teacher at the building trade school in Cologne. From March 24th to September 30th, 1909, he was again employed at Krauss and Dürr in Augsburg as a site manager and architect. For the winter semester 1909/1910 he was again an assistant teacher in Cologne. After this probationary phase, he was taken on as a trial teacher from April 1, 1910 and promoted to senior teacher on October 1, 1911.

From November 15, 1922 to March 31, 1924 Huber worked as a full-time employee in the technical department of the city of Cologne, in order to then temporarily take over the duties of the director of the Cologne building trade school. In the same year he was promoted to senior studies director and finally took over the management function and filled it until 1931.

Under Huber's aegis , the building trade school building was rebuilt and expanded in 1930.

On October 1, 1931, Huber was appointed professor and appointed to the vocational education institute in Cologne . He was last mentioned in 1938 as a professor in Cologne.

military service

On October 1, 1903, Huber began his military service as a one-year volunteer with the Royal Bavarian 3rd Infantry Regiment "Prince Karl of Bavaria" in Augsburg, which he finished on September 30, 1904 as a non-commissioned officer in the reserve . In peacetime he took part in several maneuvers and was promoted to lieutenant in the reserve. After the beginning of World War I , Huber was employed as a platoon leader in the Royal Bavarian 8th Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Friedrich II of Baden" in August 1914 . During the war he was promoted and transferred several times. As a captain and battalion commander in the Royal Bavarian 2nd Infantry Regiment "Crown Prince" , Huber was wounded on September 18, 1918 and, after the subsequent hospital stay, released from military service on January 11, 1919. On October 25, 1918, he was awarded the Iron Cross, First Class. In 1922 he was subsequently awarded the Wound Badge .
