Philipp Julius Leopold von Boineburg und Lengsfeld (born December 15, 1738 at Gehaus in the Rhön Mountains , † March 16, 1816 ) was the royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of Infantry Regiment No. 44 .

origin

His parents were the heir to the house of Philipp Ludwig von Boineburg and Lengsfeld (1700–1770) and his wife Maria Anna von Baumbach († 1796).

Life

He came to Infantry Regiment No. 21 as a private corporal in 1748 . On February 3, 1755, he was then transferred to Infantry Regiment No. 44. There he became an ensign on April 1, 1756 . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles near Torgau and Freiberg as well as in the battles of Strehlen, Wittenberg and the siege of Dresden. On 20 May 1759, he became the Seconde Lieutenant promoted.

After the war he was appointed Premier Lieutenant on July 10, 1766 and as such took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On July 6, 1781, he became staff captain and on June 8, 1782, captain and company commander . In 1787 he took part in the campaign in Holland and rose to Major on November 17, 1788 . During the First Coalition War he fought in the battles near Schwalm, Alsheim Vicogne, Famars , St. Imbert, am Schätzel and in the battle of Moorlautern . He was wounded on the treasure. At that time he was appointed commander of a grenadier battalion on March 9, 1793 and on November 5, 1794 he received the Pour le Mérite .

After the war he became a lieutenant colonel on May 28, 1798 and a colonel in the regiment on May 28, 1799 . On September 15, 1800 he was appointed commander of the regiment. On December 20, 1804, he received his resignation with the character of a major general and a pension of 800 thalers. After the lost war of 1806/07 , his pension was canceled with the request that he should contact his new sovereign about the pension. He died on March 16, 1816.

He was married to Johanna von Boineburg and Lengsfeld .
