Philipp Stix (born March 3, 1978 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Philipp Stix studied acting at the Vienna Conservatory and at the Vienna Film School. He also received acting lessons at Elfriede Ott's private drama studio in the Viennese StadtTheater Walfischgasse. Since then he has worked as a freelance actor for theater, film and television.

As a theater actor, Stix began in 2003 at various Viennese off-theaters, with independent theater ensembles and at various summer theater festivals. He played at the Local-Bühne Freistadt (2003), at the Interkulttheater Vienna (2004/2005), in the Urania Vienna (2004/2005) and at the youth theater DSCHUNGEL WIEN - Theaterhaus für Junges Audiences (2005). In July / August 2007 he appeared at the Maria Enzersdorfer Nestroy Festival in the title role of Lumpacivagabundus ; Director and partner (as the actress of the shoemaker Knieriem) was Stix 'former acting teacher Elfriede Ott. In 2008 he made a guest appearance at the Bad Hersfeld Festival , where he played the servant Abraham in Romeo and Juliet and the roles of Falstolf / Claude Marie / Montgomery in Schiller's play The Maiden of Orleans .

Further theater engagements followed at the Parndorf Cultural Summer (2009, as Oliver in As You Like It ), the Kleines Theater Salzburg (2010) and the Theater ecce in Salzburg (2010). From October 2009 to 2011 he was also on tour with the Österreichische Länderbühne with a stage version of Ödön von Horváth's novel Jugend ohne Gott ; in the play he played the role of teacher.

In 2011 he was a guest at the Klagenfurt City Theater as part of the Klagenfurt Theater Summer as Leopold's pay waiter in a play production based on motifs from the operetta Im Weißen Rößl . In 2012 he performed as Horatio in Hamlet at the Off-Theater Wien .

In April / May 2014 he played the title role in the Molière comedy Don Juan at the Mödling City Theater .

Since summer 2014, Stix has been performing every year at the Reichenau Festival . In 2015 he was the journalist Kulka in Professor Bernhardi there , and in summer 2016 he played there in Nicolaus Hagg's stage version The Demons , based on the novel of the same name by Heimito von Doderer .

In September / October 2014 he played the male lead Pato in the play Die Beautyqueen von Leenane by Martin McDonagh in a production of the "nicht.THEATER Ensemble", a group of freelance theater makers from Vienna, at the youth theater DSCHUNGEL WIEN - Theaterhaus für Junges Audiences . His partner was Eugen Knecht as Ray.

2014–2015 he performed with the theater formation “ aktionstheater ensemble ” in the production of Angry Young Man at various venues in Austria (Spielboden Dornbirn / Theater Nestroyhof / Theater Hamakom Vienna / Werk-X Vienna). In February / March 2015 he was a guest at the Stadttheater Mödling and at the Scala Vienna as the Albanian painter Rodolfo in Das Leben der Bohème , based on the film by Aki Kaurismäki . In April 2015 he appeared at the Mödling City Theater as waiter Albrecht in Oberst Redl - Ein Patriot (based on John Osborne's play A Patriot for me ). In autumn 2015 he was a guest at the Stadttheater Mödling and at Scala Wien in the lead role of George in a stage version of the Steinbeck novel Von Mäusen und Menschen .

In March 2016 he played the male lead Marco in the world premiere of the play Dream Spartacus Dream in a production of the Ottakringer Theater & Kunstverein “werk89” at the youth theater Dschungel Wien .

Stix acted in several short films. He had cinema roles in the science fiction film Ainoa (2005, as a soldier) and in the Austrian comedy It's always worse! by director David Unger (2008, leading role as the seedy bar owner Bobby Lugano). In the Austrian historical film 1805 - A Town's Tale (2012) he played a supporting role; he was the father of young Philippe.

He had a recurring series role as Adriano in the Austrian children's series Tom Turbo . In the second season of the successful Austrian series Vorstadtweiber , Stix could be seen in a continuous supporting role in April / May 2016; he played the "Italian" waiter, whose real name was Toni Kolaric, Antonio. He continued to take on his role in the third season from January 2018.

He also appeared on the ORF 1 children's program Saugut , on the TV show Trickfabrik and in TV documentaries. Stix is ​​a member of the Association of Austrian Film Actors .

Between 1997 and 2010 Stix played football as a striker in the Lower Austria regional league and in the Vienna city league . He lives in Vienna.
