Phillip "Phil" Di Giuseppe (born October 9, 1993 in Maple , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League since July 2019 and also for their farm team , the Hartford Wolf Pack , in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the left winger .

During his junior years, Di Giuseppe first played between 2009 and 2011 for the Villanova Knights in the Ontario Junior Hockey League , where he recorded 130 scorer points in 121 games over the two years . As a result, the winger refrained from running for the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League , who had chosen him in the OHL Priority Selection . Instead, the Canadian enrolled at the University of Michigan . Parallel to his studies, he was active for the university's ice hockey team for the next three years until spring 2014, for which he initially played in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and after the division was restructured by the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Big Ten Conference . After his first college season, the then 18-year-old was selected in the second round in the second round of 38th overall position by the Carolina Hurricanes from the National Hockey League .

In March 2014, Di Giuseppe signed his first professional contract in the Hurricanes franchise after three years at the university, in which he had scored 78 points in 115 appearances . His NHL entry contract with a term over three seasons was endowed with 2.775 million US dollars. By signing, the striker ended his college days early and made his professional debut in three games with the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League during the rest of the 2013/14 season . The Checkers acted as the Carolina's farm team . With the start of the 2014/15 season , Di Giuseppe was firmly in the squad of the Charlotte Checkers and played 76 games this season. He got 30 points scorer. He also experienced the beginning of the 2015/16 season in the AHL, but was appointed to the Carolinas NHL squad for the first time in early December 2015. During the season, the attacker played 41 NHL games until the end of March 2016 before playing for Charlotte again. In the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons he commuted between the NHL and AHL, as in the previous year.

When he was to be sent to the AHL again in January 2019, the Nashville Predators took over his contract from the waiver , so that he left Carolina after about four and a half years. In the organization of the Nashville Predators, the Canadian ended the season, but mainly came to work for the cooperation partner Milwaukee Admirals . In July 2019, he joined the New York Rangers as a free agent .
