The Police Directorate Görlitz (short: PD Görlitz , formerly Police Directorate Oberlausitz-Lower Silesia ) is a police authority of the State Police of Saxony in the east of the Free State . The police headquarters are in Görlitz . In 2010 there were 1,426 police officers working in the area of ​​the police headquarters.

The Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Police Directorate was established in 2005 after the Bautzen and Görlitz Police Directorates merged. Since 2013, the authority has been called Police Directorate Görlitz .

Headquarters

The management includes the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz and thus the entire Saxon part of Upper Lusatia . It extends from the Polish border on the Lusatian Neisse in the east to the outskirts of Dresden in the west. The police headquarters are located in a villa on James-von-Moltke-Strasse in Görlitz. In 2009, the demolition and renovation work began for the new headquarters of the police headquarters on Brunnenstrasse in the industrial suite of the former Plant I of Görlitz's wagon construction .

In 2015, almost all departments of the police department, the Görlitz Criminal Police Inspection and the task force, which was based at the Görlitz airfield, moved to the new address at Conrad-Schiedt-Straße 2.
