occupation

Falscher Vater is a German crime film by Nils Willbrandt commissioned by the rbb in 2009. It is the 307th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the fifteenth case for master master Horst Krause and the eleventh case for his partner Johanna Herz.

action

Mahmut Schemal, who comes from Iraq, is to be deported after ten years in asylum. Shortly afterwards he is found dead on a bank. Johanna Herz and her colleague, chief master Horst Krause, lead a car track and a screwdriver with a company logo that was found at the crime scene to the Seiffert family. Strangely enough, Miro Schemal, the murdered man's son, has an apprenticeship there. Herz and Krause have the company delivery van examined by forensic technology, but they cannot secure any suspicious traces.

Mahmut Schemal did voluntary work in a cultural association and collected donations for his compatriots in Iraq. There, Krause meets Najem Macit, a cousin of Miro Schemal, who, according to the Seiferts, had last used her van for club purposes. Based on the logbook, 8.5 km remain open. Further anomalies arise when Krause discovers that a pallet of antibiotics has disappeared from the aid deliveries. This is how Herz und Krause track down Najem Macit's illegal business. Apparently he bought expired drugs cheaply and passed them on to the cultural association at the list price. He is arrested.

According to the commissioner's research, the deceased's wife, Aria Schemal, who was fifteen years his junior, should have been deported. However, since she is pregnant by a German, she was able to prevent this. Her family reportedly knew nothing about the pregnancy. The biological father is said to be a Lennie Fritsch. This is on file with the police and the commissioner quickly finds out that he should only recognize paternity on paper for a fee so that Aria Schemal is not deported. But the research shows that the child cannot be from her husband either, as he was no longer able to procreate due to a post-traumatic stress disorder . This is how Herz discovered that Hendrik Seiffert had a relationship with Aria Schemal. But Miro Schemal also finds out that his mother was unfaithful to her husband. He wants to hold Hendrik Seiffert accountable for suspecting that he killed his father. Krause and Herz arrive in time to prevent the dispute from escalating. In an interview with the Seifferts, it turns out that Mahmut Schemal had turned up at the dealership in a rage on the evening of the crime because he had learned about the pregnancy. In his anger he also attacked Nina Seiffert, who had defended herself with a kitchen knife. When Hendrik Seiffert came in, Schemal was already dead on the ground and so in his fear he had brought the corpse to the river bank.

criticism

This time, Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv assesses something soberly: “There is a clean investigation, there are the usual suspects and the relevant milieus are routinely and politically correctly illuminated. The case is not very exciting from a criminological point of view - so the Arabic note has to provide a bit of variety. "

With voice. Jens Szameit writes it: “There are thrillers where the investigators cut a swath into the thicket of crime before they arrive at the clearing of the investigation. And then there are thrillers like this where all the pieces of the puzzle are clearly visible on the table after a short time. They just have to be arranged correctly. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave the best possible rating (thumbs up) and wrote: “A tricky family tragedy against a political background.” And drew the overall conclusion: “First slowly, then it starts to seep”.
