Sociedad Deportiva Cultural San Antonio was a Spanish handball club from the city of Pamplona . In the 1990s, the club established itself in the Spanish ASOBAL league in order to become one of the best teams in the world in the new century. The handball players headed by coach Francisco Equísoain won twice the Spanish championship title (2002, 2005) and twice the Spanish cup competition (1999, 2001). The club was also very successful internationally. In 2001 the crown of European handball was won by winning the Champions League . Two further finals (2003, 2006) are on the account as well as two successes in the European Cup Winners' Cup (2000, 2004) as well as winning the European Club Championship in 2000. In April 2013 the club was liquidated after the debts of 2.8 million euros could no longer be paid.
Name change
The association was also known by the name of its current main sponsor. From 1997 to 2009, San Antonio was sponsored by Portland , a cement factory. For the 2009/10 season he switched to Reyno de Navarra , and in 2010/11 to AMAYA Sport .
