Quinton Hosley (born March 25, 1984 in Harlem , New York City ) is an American basketball player . After studying in his home country, Hosley played as a professional in Europe, especially in Turkey and Spain . Hosley has been a Georgian citizen since 2010 , so he can play for this country in international games. After a stint at the Italian first division club from Sassari, Hosley won the Polish championship with Stelmet Zielona Góra in the 2012/13 season. After another season in Italy, he returned to Zielona Góra for the 2014/15 season.

Career

Growing up in Denver , Hosley attended Community College in Lamar (Colorado) in the same US state from 2002 . In 2005 he moved to California State University, Fresno , where he played for the college team Bulldogs until 2007 in the NCAA's Western Athletic Conference .

After finishing his studies, Hosley moved to Europe as a professional in 2007 and played in Izmir for Pınar Karşıyaka in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi . At the end of the 2007/08 season, the club reached the play-offs for the national championship, in which they were eliminated in the first round against record champions Efes Pilsen Istanbul . Hosley scored a good 23 points and almost 12 rebounds on average, a double-double per game, making him the second best scorer and best rebounder in the entire league. For the following season he was then signed by the Spanish first division club Real Madrid. Here, however, he was unable to assert himself as desired and in February 2009 he moved back to Turkey to Galatasaray in Istanbul . In the play-offs of the Turkish championship they were eliminated in the semifinal series from Hosley's point of view again against Efes Pilsen, who also won the championship. For the following season, Hosley received a contract with the Turkish league competitor Aliağa Petkim GSK, also from Izmir. With this team he achieved relegation. After receiving Georgian citizenship, he played again in the Spanish ACB league in the 2010/11 season , this time for the Catalan club Joventut from Badalona . The team also missed the play-offs for the national championship. At the European Championship finals in 2011 , another naturalized player in the Georgian national team was preferred to him, so that Hosley was not used.

For the 2011/12 season Hosley moved to Sardinia to Dinamo Sassari in the Lega Basket Serie A . The team qualified in their second first division season again for the play-offs for the championship, in which they had no chance in the semi-final series against series champion Montepaschi Siena . In the 2012/13 season, Hosley played for the Polish first division club Stelmet from Zielona Góra , who won the championship in the Tauron League for the first time and replaced series champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia . Hosley then returned to Italy, where he joined the runner-up Acea Virtus from the capital Rome . After only one season, Hosley signed again for Zielona Góra for the 2014/2015 season.
