Radožda ( Macedonian Радожда , Albanian Radozhda / Radozhdë or Rodohozhda / Rodohozhdë ) is a place on Lake Ohrid in southwest Macedonia , around ten kilometers southwest of the municipality's capital Struga . The Albanian border runs just two kilometers south .
The fishing village is first mentioned in an Ottoman document in 1583 .
According to the last census (2002), the village had 808 inhabitants, who lived in 217 households. This corresponds to around 3.7 people per household. Ethnically, around 99 percent of them are Macedonians , who, without exception, profess Orthodox Christianity .
Neighboring villages are in the north Kališta (about five kilometers as the crow flies), in the northwest Mali Vlaj (about two kilometers) and in the south in Albania the little village Lin (about four kilometers).
The majority of the population is engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, viticulture and, above all, fishing. Today, however, it is very out of date, as many young people have left the village because of unemployment and lack of prospects.
