Raffaella Brutto (born January 10, 1988 in Genoa ) is an Italian snowboarder . She starts in snowboard cross .

Career

Gross started the Snowboard World Cup for the first time in Bad Gastein in January 2006 and finished 44th. In January 2007 she came 27th at the Snowboard World Championships in Arosa and won the bronze medal at the Winter Universiade in Bardonecchia . At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon , she managed the 27th place. At the Winter Universiade 2009 in Harbin , she won the bronze medal again. In March 2009 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup with ninth place in La Molina . The following year she came 17th in her first Olympic participation in Vancouver . At the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina she was eighth. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup in Montafon with second place. In the further course of the season she reached two top ten placements in the World Cup and at the end of the season she was seventh in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. In addition, she won third place in Telluride and second in Veysonnaz together with Michela Moioli in the team competition. At the season highlight of the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham , she finished sixth. The following season she finished 11th in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. She came third in La Molina and won the team competition in Montafon together with Michela Moioli. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she came in 16th place. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , she finished 13th. In the 2016/17 season she reached 11th place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with two top ten placements. She also won the team competition in Veysonnaz together with Michela Moioli and took second place in the team competition in Solitude . At the season highlight of the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , she was sixth in the individual. In the team competition she was fourth together with Michela Moioli. In the 2017/18 season she reached tenth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with six top ten placements. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she was eighth in snowboard cross.

In the following season he took ninth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup and 12th place in the team competition and sixth place in the individual at the 2019 Snowboard World Championships in Park City . In the 2019/20 season she came in four top ten finishes, including third place in Big White , and seventh place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup

Gross has also participated in the European Cup since 2004. She has won seven so far. Her best overall ranking was fifth in the 2015/16 season. (Status: end of season 2019/20). In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2016 she became the Italian snowboard cross champion.
