reception
Norbert Hummelt wrote about the poems in the Tagesspiegel . even with stone :
“In reading, the poems unfold in their multilingualism, their quotations and changes of register, with sprinkles of Yiddish, French and dialect. Strangely beautiful, precious structures that are best revealed by reading aloud. Its shape is experienced and worked out at the same time, it reveals a person who is woven out of all of this, cracked, patched, vulnerable, quick-witted [...]. "(Norbert Hummelt, in: Der Tagesspiegel , July 13, 2019)
The Neue Zürcher Zeitung praised Rainer René Mueller for his selected poems in Poèmes / Poetra as one
“A poet of rank [...] whose verses flash in the field of tension between so-called hermetics and a bold criticism of the times. Mueller's poems tear open the curtain behind which the horrors of (German) history lurk. It is no coincidence that his ancestor is called Paul Celan , whom he continues in his very own way. [...] The sixty or so selected poems are a small sensation. They open doors into the unreal and unseen, into areas of angry grief and a need for legend. "(T. Sc., In: NZZ , March 8, 2016)
Joachim Sartorius sums up in his commentary on the poem lirum, larum, which was published in the Frankfurt anthology :
“It was one of my big mistakes not to include Rainer René Mueller in Never a Breath , my handbook of political poetry in the twentieth century. He is entitled to a preferred seat there - and not only there. We have to read his poems ... "( Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , July 16, 2016)
Hans-Jürgen Heise wrote in the weekly newspaper Die Zeit about Rainer René Mueller's song German , it would consist of works
" Which are artfully, even artificially , realized in LiedDeutsch instead of spoken German, in colloquial speech. In the verses of the author, born in 1949, the source of surrealism emerges unexpectedly from the brittle word rock. Müller's subjects have left their mark on this intellectual poetry. The perceived fragility of the world is reflected in the fragility of a language, refined by cleverly applied typography. Müller continues to play where the German surrealists and mannerists fell silent when the realism fed by Brecht and the North Americans had become an overpowering current. The dangers: a certain arbitrariness and a hermeticism , which, however, arouses curiosity again and again through offers of reality. ”(Hans-Jürgen Heise, in: Die Zeit , No. 47/1982)
