action

Former beauty queen Sandra Dréant returns from the Côte d'Azur to her hometown of Boulogne-sur-Mer in the north of France , moves in with her mother, who guards a campsite, and is looking for a job. Since she has nothing to show apart from an aborted hairdressing training and odd jobs like pole dancing , she ends up as an assembly line worker in a fish canning factory. There the return of the former Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais caused a stir. When Sandra, who doesn't want to have anything to do with the other workers, is supposed to clean the machines with her colleagues Marilyn and Nadine after work, she is harassed in the locker room by her superior Jean-Mi. As he prepares to rape her, she kicks a locker door that severed his limb. Together with Marilyn and Nadine, Sandra finds Jean-Mi's bag full of cash. While they are considering whether they should dial the emergency number or rather disappear with the money, Jean-Mi runs away and falls miserably to her death on a staircase. The women decide to keep the money and dispose of Jean-Mi's body. For this purpose, they have the corpse shredded by the machines and put into canned food, which they then store in a warehouse for residual goods.

After the police arrive, Sandra, Marilyn and Nadine are questioned by Inspector Digne about the missing Jean-Mi in his office. You would have last seen Jean-Mi and dialed 911. In Jean-Mi's inbox one also found insulting threatening e-mails from Marilyn, who had an affair with Jean-Mi two years ago and then received the passport from him. Digne, who recently had a one-night stand with Sandra , lets the women go for the time being. When leaving the office, Sandra inconspicuously takes Jean-Mi's limb with her, which Marilyn accidentally left on his desk and which ends up in a gully.

When the canned goods with Jean-Mis remains, which they were not yet able to remove because of the controls at the factory entrance, land at the local table , the three women are forced to carry paper bags on their heads and armed with a rifle that Nadine has obtained. raid the blackboard. After they dumped Jean-Mi's remains in the harbor, they party in a bar - without realizing that the money they shared between them belongs to the Belgian drug mafia, which manages cocaine through Jean-Mi and another middleman named Simon Bénéké wanted to procure from Spain. Simon, who is now backed by the Mafia, does everything in his power to get the money back and finally becomes aware of Marilyn, who has bought a new car with her share - contrary to Sandra's request to leave the money untouched for the time being. Nadine, on the other hand, whose husband is unemployed, used her money to pay rent debts.

After Simon ambushed Marilyn in front of the factory and asked for the money back, the women decide to bury the money. Meanwhile, Nadine's husband discovers that his wife must have something to do with the attack on the blackboard and leaves her with their sons. In the evening, Inspector Digne went to Sandra and openly confessed to her that he had been transferred from Paris to Boulogne-sur-Mer because he had taken money with him during a house search. He has been watching Jean-Mi for a while and is now warning her about his dangerous business partners. Soon after, Simon appears at the campsite with Sandra's mother. As it turns out, Simon is Sandra's father, whom she never met. When Sandra also arrives, they start beating each other. Simon demands the money back from Sandra and only lets go of her when he learns that she is expecting a child. Sandra, who is 10 weeks pregnant - from the man she left with a black eye in the south of France - makes Marilyn and Nadine believe the following evening that she has given the money back to Simon.

While Sandra digs up the money the next day and packs her things to disappear with it, Simon is forced by the Belgian mafia boss Boniface and his men to reveal the identity of the three women. Two of Boniface's men then ambush Nadine while shopping. However, she can assert herself against her with her rifle and drives away in her car. Marilyn, who is taking her son Dylan to school, is kidnapped by two Belgians but is able to escape after a car accident she causes. Simon, who is on the way to Sandra with two other Belgians, shoots the two men and forces Sandra, whose life he has just saved, to bury the bodies. Because she thinks he wants something from her, Simon finally explains to her that he is her father.

Worried about her husband Franck, Nadine drives home, where she is already expected by Boniface and his men. Marilyn, who fetched her son from school armed with a pistol, also arrives at Nadine's and is now also taken hostage by the Belgians. Sandra, who managed to take the gun from Simon, calls Nadine. When, instead of Nadine Boniface, she answered, she agreed to exchange the money for her friends. Accompanied by Simon, who tries to stop her, Sandra appears with Nadine with the money. Sandra and the Belgians draw their guns and aim at each other when Nadine's husband Franck arrives. When Boniface threatens to shoot Marilyn, Sandra fires a shot at him. Inspector Digne, who was informed by Sandra, suddenly appears with his gun drawn. A wild shootout begins in which all Belgians are killed and Simon is shot in the stomach. When several police cars arrive, which Marilyn's son Dylan has notified, Sandra escapes with Simon through the back door, while Digne takes the wallet. Simon buys ice cream for himself and his daughter on the beach. He thinks it's nice to have met her and hopes her child will be a girl before he collapses dead.

Inspector Digne is about to leave town and meets Sandra who persuades him to take her with her. When he pulls up his car at an intersection outside of town, Marilyn smashes his side window with a baseball bat. Sandra points her allegedly discarded weapon at Digne, while Nadine shoots open Digne's trunk with her rifle and takes the mafia money with which Digne wanted to disappear. The three women drive away in Marilyn's car.

Reviews

Le Parisien saw in rebels - don't mess with them! "A mixture of the worlds of the Dardenne brothers and that of Tarantino ". A “perfectly written scenario” is carried by actors who act “with passion”. The cast of the female trio with de France, Moreau and Lamy, who “keep all their promises”, is “a casting coup”. Even L'Express According remember Mauduits movie Tarantino, where you pinch the hit comedy here Welcome to the Sticks have added. The result is "politically incorrect and resolutely feminist" - the men are "literally and figuratively castrated". The result is "a funny film that gives French comedy a boost". Cinema counted "the ingredients for this weird gangster comedy [...] among the typical set pieces of the genre". The three main actresses are a “daring trio infernal” and as such could “convince”. In its comedy, Mauduit's first feature film is "too predictable" and "not as macabre as it appears at first glance". When it comes down to it, the director refrained from “being really bad”. In summary, Cinema described the film as "[s] ympathic, altogether a bit too harmless crook grotesque".
