action
In sultry Charleston , South Carolina , trial attorney Jamie Sawyer and attorney Roy Rayder fight against their strong attraction to one another as they stand on different sides in a police scandal. However, they find it difficult to hide their feelings.
Jamie's new client, Lee Anne Marcus, who was a former employee of the Charleston Police Department, was sexually molested and raped by her ex-colleagues. Above all, her dominant ex-boyfriend Terry McCandless, who was also her superior in the Police Department, prevailed over her. When a video emerges showing that Lee Anne has been raped several times by her colleagues, Jamie takes on the case. However, Roy finds out that the video has been tampered with. In the original version of the video, Roy's friend Preston Cruz, a detective with the Charleston Police Department and also Jamie's ex-boyfriend, appears.
Other central characters are the head of the Charleston Police Department Holland Knox, who is also vying for the post of mayor, and Vi Briggs, an employee in Jamie's office who also takes on the duties of a private detective. There is also Decatur "Dec" Fortnum, lawyer and Roy's ex-father-in-law, who is also Roy's boss, as he still works for him.
Production and broadcast
In February 2013, it was announced that CBS had secured the rights to a potential lawyer series produced by Ian Sander and Kim Moses. A short time later, Catherine Hardwicke was hired to direct the pilot episode. Anna Wood and Cam Gigandet were able to secure the leading roles . Kim Wayans , Shawn Hatosy and Georgina Haig had previously played leading roles in the project. One of the last leading roles was given to Adam Rodriguez . The pilot was filmed in Charleston , South Carolina in March 2013 .
In May 2013, CBS gave the go-ahead for the production of a first season of 13 episodes, which was scheduled for the summer of 2014. The television series premiered in the United States on June 29, 2014 following the US version of Big Brother . The premiere was followed by almost four million viewers and achieved a target group rating of two percent. In the following weeks, the series was able to win some viewers, but remained below the station's expectations. Because of this, CBS discontinued the series in October 2014.
ProSiebenSat.1 Media has secured the broadcasting rights for Germany . The associated free TV transmitter sixx the television series has included in its program from 16 June, 2015. Due to low audience ratings, sixx decided on July 29, 2015 to first broadcast the remaining six episodes on the original repeat dates (night from Tuesday to Wednesday).
