Eurobandið at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade

Eurobandið ("Euroband") is an Icelandic pop duo consisting of Friðrik Ómar Hjörleifsson and Regína Ósk Óskarsdóttir. The duo represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade ( Serbia ). With This Is My Life they first took part in the second semifinals on May 22, 2008 and secured eighth place in the final, which took place on May 24, 2008. There they took 14th place out of a total of 25 participants with a total of 64 points.

Friðrik Ómar and Regína Ósk are among the most popular artists in Iceland. In the past, each of them tried to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Iceland , but without success. It was only after they formed a duo that Iceland selected them as a representative for the Eurovision Song Contest .
