Government of Fadden
The Fadden government ruled Australia from August 29, 1941 to October 7, 1941. It was a coalition government of the United Australia Party (UAP) and the Country Party (CP).
The previous government was a coalition government of the UAP and the CP under Prime Minister Robert Menzies . When his cabinet colleagues refused to trust him on August 28, 1941, Menzies resigned. A UAP-CP government followed, with Country Party Chairman Arthur Fadden as Prime Minister. After the government lost a vote in Parliament on 3 October 1941 instruct Governor General Alexander Hore-Ruthven the chairman of the Labor Party , John Curtin , with the formation of a new government.
