Hawke III government

The Hawke III government ruled Australia from July 24, 1987 to April 4, 1990. The government was provided by the Labor Party .

Bob Hawke had been Prime Minister of a Labor Party government since November 3, 1980. In the parliamentary elections on July 11, 1987, the Labor Party expanded its majority in the House of Representatives to 86 out of 148 seats. In the Senate Labor lost two seats and put 32 of the 76 senators. Bob Hawke remained prime minister in a laboratory government. The parliamentary election on March 24, 1990 brought slight losses to the Labor Party, which defended its majority with 78 out of 128 seats in the House of Representatives. In the Senate it remained with 32 of 76 senators. Laboratory rule under Bob Hawke continued.
