The Australia region is one of the eight international regions that send participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. Australia has been taking part in this tournament since 2008, back then in the Asia-Pacific region . Due to the growing interest in Little League Baseball, Australia was declared a region of its own in 2013.
Participating teams
20 teams from different states and territories take part in the qualification. Depending on the number of Little League teams, the states and territories receive up to five starting places in the national championships.
