The Southeast region is one of the eight regions of the United States that sends participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. The Southeast region has been taking part in this tournament since 1957, back then under the name Region South . When the field of participants doubled in 2001, the south region was divided into the south-west and south-east regions.
