The Central Region was one of the four regions of the United States that sent participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. The Central Region was founded in 1957 as Region North and renamed Region Central in 1974. By doubling the field of participants from 2001, the Central region was divided into the Great Lakes and Midwest regions. Up until 1959, the Central Region never won the World Series.
