The Southwest region is one of the eight regions of the United States that sends participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. The Southwest region has been taking part in this tournament since 1957, at that time under the name Region South . When the field of participants doubled in 2001, the South region was divided into the Southeast and Southwest regions.

In 2001, the region was briefly referred to as the Gulf States, instead of Colorado and New Mexico, Alabama and Tennessee played in this group.
