Reimar Dahlgrün (born April 7, 1914 in Hanover ; † April 16, 1982 ibid) was a German pianist , professor at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and a publicist .

Life

Reimar Dahlgrün attended the Hanover Ratsgymnasium during the Weimar Republic and passed his Abitur there. At the time of National Socialism he studied from 1933 to 1938 at the Municipal Conservatory (today: University of Music, Theater and Media Hanover) and in Berlin at the University of Music , where he received piano lessons from Conrad Hansen or, for example , learned to conduct with Walther Gmeindl .

After the end of the Second World War and before the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany , Dahlgrün led a piano class at the Municipal Conservatory in Hanover from 1946 and also performed on the piano and as a piano accompanist . At the time of the reconstruction of the city, 48% of which was destroyed by the air raids on Hanover , the Filmtheater am Kröpcke was opened in 1953 with a festive prelude by Dahlgrün on the wing .

From 1959 Dahlgrün was promoted to professor at the municipal conservatory and headed the soloist classes department there . He initiated the international exchange between the Hanover Music Academy and institutes in cities such as Brussels , Copenhagen and Milan . The musician was in demand as a jury member for music competitions and published in numerous specialist journals .

Reimar Dahlgrün was temporarily chairman of the Association of German Music Educators and Performing Artists as well as of the Lower Saxony State Committee for Young People . He was also chairman of the Association of Liberal Professions in Lower Saxony.

From 1964 Dahlgrün became politically active in the FDP . He ran for local elections in Lower Saxony in 1964 and for the federal election in 1965 on the Lower Saxony state list ( constituency 36, Hanover I ) without success .

As a long-standing member of the Hanover Art Association (HKV), Dahlgrün was its chairman from 1966 until his death in 1982. His successor at the HKV was Gotthard Kronstein .
