Reimer Böge

Reimer Böge (born December 18, 1951 in Hasenmoor ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2019 and the state chairman of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein from March 16, 2013 to November 15, 2014 .

He was a member of the Budget Committee of the European Parliament , from 2007 to 2009 as its chairman.

Life and work

After graduating from the Jürgen-Fuhlendorf-Schule in Bad Bramstedt in 1970 , Böge completed a degree in agricultural sciences at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , which he completed in 1976 as a qualified agricultural engineer . He has been an independent farmer in Hasenmoor since 1975 .

Reimer Böge is divorced and has two children. He married again in November 2006.

Political party

Reimer Böge came into contact with politics at an early age through his father Kurt Böge , who was a member of the CDU state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein. Reimer Böge has been a member of the CDU since 1975. He has been a member of the CDU state executive in Schleswig-Holstein since 1989 and was deputy CDU state chairman from 1997 to 2013. For the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 1992 , Böge was appointed Minister for Agriculture and Europe in the shadow cabinet of top candidate Ottfried Hennig .

From 1992 to 1997 Böge was chairman of the federal committee for agricultural policy of the CDU and from 1998 to 2000 and again since March 2013 a member of the CDU federal executive committee .

On March 16, 2013 he was elected state chairman of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein.

Böge held this position until November 15, 2014, when he was replaced by Ingbert Liebing after he had announced his retirement from this position for health reasons.

Böge has been a member of the European Parliament since 1989 . Here he was from 1992 to 1994 agricultural policy spokesman of the EPP - Group from 1994 to 1999 Chairman of the Group Working Group budget, budget control, agriculture and fisheries . Next to it was Böge 1996-1997 Chairman of the BSE - Committee of Inquiry .

Since 1999 Böge has been the deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU group in the European Parliament. From 2001 to 2004 he was the standing rapporteur of the Budget Committee for the EU's eastward enlargement . From 1999 to 2006 he was deputy chairman of the budget committee , from January 2007 to 2009 he was its chairman. Since July 2004 Böge has been a deputy member of the Committee on International Trade, since September 2004 a member of the parliamentary delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand and general rapporteur of the European Parliament on the political challenges and budget of the enlarged Union 2007-2013.

At the state representative assembly on November 23, 2013 in Neumünster, Böge was again elected as the top candidate (list position 1) of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein for the European elections on May 25, 2014. He did not run again for the 2019 European elections.

Böge is a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group European Parliament .

Social Commitment

Böge was from 1972 to 1975 chairman of the rural youth association Schleswig-Holstein and from 1973 to 1977 deputy chairman of the Federation of German rural youth . From 1977 to 1980 he was President of the European Council of Young Farmers .

In 2001 he succeeded Philipp Reinhard Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich as chairman of the Association of German Animal Breeders
