Reinhard Bettzuege

Reinhard Bettzuege (born May 22, 1946 in Recklinghausen ) is a German diplomat .

Life

Reinhard Bettzuege studied law , English and German . He is Colonel  d.R.

After joining the Foreign Service and a period of preparation for the higher service, he was employed at the embassy in London from 1976 to 1980 before he went to Belgrade for two years . From 1992 to 1995, Bettzuege was deputy spokesman for the Federal Foreign Office and head of the public relations department . As permanent representative of the head, he moved to the permanent representation at NATO in Brussels until 2000 . He then went to Vienna for two years , where he heads the permanent mission to the OSCE . From 2002 to 2003, Bettzuege was a Senior Fellow at the Science and Politics Foundation in Berlin . Until 2007 he was head and holder of the professorship for international relations and diplomacy at Andrássy University in Budapest . During this time he was also Vice President of the Federal Academy for Security Policy from 2004 to 2005 and visiting professor for European Studies at Columbia University and New York University .

From October 2007 to August 2011 Reinhard Bettzuege was ambassador at the German embassy in Brussels .

Reinhard Bettzuege is married.
