Released Anger is a Greek thrash metal band from Athens that was founded in 2004.

history

The band was founded in November 2004 by singer Ntinos Zacharis, drummer Thanos Ziogas and guitarists John "Giannis" Anagnostou and Dimitris Charisis. The members had previously been active in various bands such as The Crucifier , Skullcrusher and Deny. After four months the Crucifier guitarist Nikos Psarogiannis joined the band as bassist and the first performance followed. At the end of June, seven months after the founding, the EP Violent Insticts , which contains five songs , was recorded in the Baeline Studios . The recordings took a total of 25 hours and took place with producer John Mcris . The publication was made in November 2005. In addition, Kostas Paulidis joined the band as bass player in October. On November 20, the band then held their second gig. The concert was recorded and was later part of the music video for the song Released Anger . Immediately after the performance, Ziogas left the cast and was replaced by Stelios Stauropoulos. In August 2006, the 222 studio recorded their debut album Faces of Fate within eight days , which includes a cover version of Whiplash's Power Thrashing Death and ten other songs. The album was released in 2007 in Europe on Eat Metal Records and in America on Kill Again Records . In 2009 the single Virus was released , followed by the split release Monarch in Life / State of War with Dead City in 2010 . In 2011 Christos Sevastopoulos was the new bassist and Jan Westermann was the drummer in the line-up. In 2016, the split release Revolution Starts Here with Whiplash was released via Floga Records . The band has performed with Attacker , Blitzkrieg , Brocas Helm , Sodom , Enforcer , Whiplash, Acid Death and Flotsam and Jetsam , among others .

style

Yiannis Doukas from metal-temple.com counted the band in his review of Faces of Fate as part of the new wave of Thrash Metal and classified them in groups such as Dekapitator and Merciless Death . On the album, the group plays thrash metal in a classic style with sound similarities to Tankard , Hallows Eve , Grip Inc. and Kreator . In general, the music can be described as a mixture of Thrash Metal in the German style, which is mainly caused by the singing reminiscent of Mille Petrozza , and that from the San Francisco Bay Area . Grigoris Chronis, also from metal-temple.com , reviewed Virus and also found that it was faster to hear Thrash Metal in the classical style. He assigned the group to the then also newly emerging bands of the genre such as Merciless Death, Hatchet , Fueled by Fire and Warbringer . The group was influenced on the one hand by European Thrash Metal in the style of Kreator, Destruction , Sodom and Exumer , on the other hand by American Thrash Metal by Exodus , Whiplash, Slayer and Sacred Reich .
