Reserve Hunter Battalion No. 5
The Reserve Jäger Battalion No. 5 was an infantry unit of the Prussian Army
History and formation
The battalion was set up on August 2, 1914 on the basis of a mobilization order from the Jäger battalion "von Neumann" (1st Silesian) No. 5 in Hirschberg . It consisted of 4 hunters - companies , 1 machine gun company and 1 cyclist company . In May 1916, the battalion set up a 2nd MG company.
The battalion was disbanded in Hirschberg at the end of December 1918 after returning from France to the garrison .
