Residenzplatz (Würzburg)
The Residenzplatz is a representative and splendid square on the edge of the old town of Würzburg . The square is bounded in the east by the Würzburg Residence and in the west by the Balthasar-Neumann-Promenade. The Residenzplatz is part of the core zone of the UNESCO World Heritage "Würzburg Residence with Hofgarten and Residenzplatz".
There are parking spaces on the north and south sides; Parking in the middle is prohibited . The Residenzplatz can be reached by public transport via the bus stop of the same name. It is the venue for several concerts and was the location for the 2010 adventure film The Three Musketeers . On June 28, 2011, thousands of fans celebrated basketball player Dirk Nowitzki on Residenzplatz after he won the championship of the North American basketball league NBA with the Dallas Mavericks .
