Reuden / Anhalt is a district of the city of Zerbst / Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

The village of Reuden / Anhalt is located in Hohen Fläming and is surrounded by extensive forests. The state border with Brandenburg runs immediately east of Reuden. The city of Zerbst is approx. 20 km away, the Brandenburg district town Bad Belzig 21 km. The heights of the Fläming ( Gorrenberge, Wachenberge each 173 m above sea level) gradually drop towards the southwest. The northern Nuthe rises near Reuden .

history

In 1530 Reuden was first mentioned in the "Landbuch der Drey Aempter Zerbst, Rosslau and Lyndaw" (Lindau) . The place probably existed much earlier, and there could also have been a period of desertification . The Thirty Years' War also affected the then still remote forest area of the High Fläming. In 1631 Reuden suffered from the plague . In addition to arable farming on barren soils, there was a tar oven and charcoal burning in the area.

South of Reuden, between Reuden and Grimme, was the complex camp 25 of the National People's Army . Today there is a poultry farm belonging to the PHW Group on the site . Agriculture as well as small craft businesses, two restaurants and two guest houses form the basis of income in Reuden.

Since November 5, 2008, the community has had the community name Reuden / Anhalt .

Until December 31, 2009 Reuden / Anhalt was an independent municipality. 311 inhabitants lived on a community area of 12.71 km² (December 31, 2008). On January 1, 2010 the incorporation into Zerbst / Anhalt took place .

The last mayor of Reuden was Elard Schmidt.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved by the Dessau Regional Council on June 2, 1994 and registered in the Magdeburg State Archives under the coat of arms roll number 26/1994.

Blazon : “Divided obliquely by red and silver; above a silver oak leaf with acorn, below a sloping red plow iron. "

The municipality colors show silver (white) - red.

The oak leaf refers to a pedunculate oak located in the village, which is under nature protection. Furthermore, it is intended to symbolize the importance of forestry and hunting, which is evidenced by a forester's house built in 1559. The ploughshare represents the agricultural character that has shaped the place for centuries. The tinctures correspond to those of the former County of Lindau, to which the community once belonged.

The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldic Society "Black Lion" Leipzig.
