Rexhe Bytyçi (born May 5, 1987 in Istog , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is an Austrian football player of Kosovar-Albanian origin.
Club career
Born in Istog , Bytyci came to Austria at the age of two, where he began his playing career in the youth of ASV Steyr . He later moved to the larger SK Vorwärts Steyr within the city , before being placed in the youth team of the UD Lanzarote in Spain by a consultant in early 2006 .
After half a year in Lanzarote, he moved on to its cooperation club UD Las Palmas , where, however, his breakthrough as a professional player was denied.
In the summer of 2006 he then moved back to Austria and signed with the then second division club SC Schwanenstadt . The team then advanced to the surprise of the season and only just missed promotion to the Bundesliga with second place in the table . The strong offensive with players like Lukas Mössner , Thierry Tazemeta , Andreas Bammer or Turgay Bahadır , who were too big a competition for Bytyci , had a major part of the success . Overall, he came under coach Andreas Heraf to only five league appearances without scoring, whereupon he left the club at the end of the season.
As a result, after a trial session, the then Spanish first division club Betis Sevilla secured its transfer rights, but immediately gave it to third division racing Portuense .
After only one half of the year, in which he was used six times in the Segunda B, he moved from the relegation-threatened Portuense league internally to CD Dénia . In February 2011, the club then announced that they would initiate disciplinary proceedings against the players Juanma González and Bytyci for serious misconduct committed together with probationary player Martin Perst . Shortly afterwards, an official statement was made that both players had been strictly sanctioned. There was no explanation of the reason for the misconduct or the exact extent of the sentence. However, both were no longer used in a row and had to leave the club at the end of the season.
After half a year without a club, he then came under the threat of relegation SV Grödig . Again, the competition on the offensive, with players like the Brazilian Léo or the later top scorer Diego Viana , was too great. Bytyçi was only used once for the full 90 minutes and otherwise had to be content with the Joker role. When the club unfortunately had to relegate third from bottom at the end of the season, he moved again, this time to the Regionalliga Ost for SV Horn .
In Horn it was hoped that the purchases from Bytyçi and Gerardo Seoane would compensate for the departure of star striker Goran Aleksić , which seemed to be confirmed by the good preparation of the two strikers. As a result, however, the season went completely against expectations. Neither Seoane nor Bytyçi could establish themselves as goal getter. After the first half of the season, the club pulled the emergency brake and dissolved the contracts with both strikers. While Seoane was immediately at FC St. Veit , Bytyçi was considered a failed talent and was again without a club.
In July 2010 he signed with the financially weak Styrian traditional club DSV Leoben and thus moved to the Austrian Regional League Middle. In Leoben he then made the long-awaited breakthrough, scoring twelve goals in fifteen games up to the winter break and thus aroused the interest of higher-class teams such as LASK Linz , SC Austria Lustenau or TSV Hartberg . However, Bytyçi decided, according to his own statement, to stay until the summer transition period due to the better development opportunities.
He then moved to the second division TSV Hartberg for the 2011/12 season. After half a year at Hartberg, he moved to league competitor LASK in January 2012. In the Linzers, however, it was mainly used for the third-class amateurs.
After the club's forced relegation, he joined the regional league team SK Austria Klagenfurt for the 2012/13 season . After 22 regional league games for the Carinthians, he moved to his youth club Vorwärts Steyr in the summer of 2013.
After a season at Steyr, he moved to Union St. Florian in 2014 . For St. Florian he completed 106 regional league matches in four years and scored 47 goals. After the club's relegation from the regional league, he returned for the 2018/19 season to SK Vorwärts Steyr, who had been promoted to the second division. In January 2019 he terminated his contract with Steyr. He then moved to the fourth class UFC St. Peter / Au in the same month .
National team
He made his debut as a legionnaire at Las Palmas in the spring of 2006, during the "8-nation invitation tournament" in Doha for the Austrian U-19 national team.
