Wilhelm Richard Moritz von Meyerinck (born December 5, 1802 in Berlin ; † May 9, 1885 ibid) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 14th Cavalry Brigade .

Life

Richard was the son of the Prussian major Friedrich von Meyerinck (1754–1813) and his wife Henriette, born von Pennavaire (1768–1804). Lieutenant General Dietrich Reichard von Meyerinck was his grandfather.

Life

Meyerinck visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin and was hired on July 9, 1820 as a second lieutenant in the 7th Cuirassier Regiment of the Prussian Army . On July 10, 1829 he was transferred to the 8th Uhlan Regiment . There he acted as regimental adjutant in 1830/34 and in the meantime advanced to prime lieutenant in mid-June 1832 . On May 22, 1835 Meyerinck was ordered to serve as an adjutant of the 14th Cavalry Brigade. In the same function he worked in the 14th Division from November 6th, 1841 until Meyerinck was transferred to the adjutantage on April 7th, 1842, leaving his previous position as Rittmeister . In the years to come, various commandments followed. 1844/48 as adjutant at the General Command of the VII Army Corps , 1848/49 at the General Command of the IV Army Corps and 1849/53 with the Chief of the Army General Staff.

In order to become familiar with the troop service again, Meyerinck was commanded to the 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment in January 1853 and appointed commander of the 12th Hussar Regiment on February 17, 1853 . He rose to the rank of colonel by mid-July 1855 , was appointed commander of the 14th Cavalry Brigade in Trier on January 21, 1856, with the position à la suite of his regiment , and was promoted to major general on November 22, 1858. Meyerinck married on March 16, 1831 in Trier Agnes Freiin von Kinsky and Tettau (1813–1875), the daughter of Lieutenant General Franz Friedrich von Kinski and Tettau . She was buried on February 23, 1875 in the Dorotheenstadt cemetery. The couple had several children:
