Junior Wrestling World Championships

The world championships in wrestling the juniors are determined annually by the FILA held. The first junior world championships were held in 1978 in Colorado Springs, USA. In 1993 the first world championships for women took place. Since the 2003 World Championships in Istanbul, the three world championships in free style, Greco-Roman style and free style for juniors have been held together in one place within a week. The tournaments are held in July or August.

All wrestlers under the age of 21 are eligible to participate.
