The Risserkogel is a 1,826 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Prealps south of the Tegernsee and is therefore one of the highest peaks in the Tegernsee Mountains , which are part of the Mangfall Mountains . Its secluded location offers a comprehensive panorama from the summit cross, which on a clear day extends in the east to the Kaiser Mountains , in the south to Großglockner and Großvenediger , in the west to the Zugspitze and in the north to Munich . Several marked trails lead to the Risserkogel from all the surrounding valleys, which at least require surefootedness, but do not have any real climbing spots:

  • from the Hufnagelstube (Sutten area) in the Rottach valley via the Sieblialm, Riedereckalm and the east ridge in 2.5 hours
  • from the Weißen Valepp-Alm (on the Sutten - Valepp toll road) via the Bernauer Alm and the south ridge in 3 hours
  • from Wildbad Kreuth via the Schwaigeralm, Scheueralm, Ableitenalm, the Grupeck and the Westgrat in 3 hours
  • from Kreuth (district Riedlern) over the wooded west flank of the Grupeck and the west ridge in 3 hours
  • from the Wallberg -Bahn mountain station as a high-altitude hike over Setzberg , Grupeck and Westgrat in 2 hours

Even in winter, the Risserkogel is often climbed on skis or snowshoes from Wildbad Kreuth over the steep, sunny slopes of the Ableitenalm.

North of the Risserkogel is the 1768 m high Plankenstein with climbing routes from the II to the X level of difficulty . To the west of the Risserkogel lies the Grubeck , to the east of the Risserkogel lies the snow soils .

To the northeast below the Plankenstein is the Riederecksee , to the northwest below the Röthensteiner See .
