The ridge heels Kieshübel ( 632.8  m ), Hollerkopf ( 615.5  m ) and Weißestein ( 550.7  m ) as well as the neighboring Waldkuppe Einsiedler ( 606.6  m ) to the south-west are to be added to the Roßkopf . In the southeast, the Roßkopf forms a large, steeply sloping shoulder, the Herzberg ( 591.4  m ) with a lookout tower and inn. On the eastern flank of the Herzberg, higher rock ribs come to light on the charming marble stone.

About 1000 m south-south-west of the mountain peak rises in a striking valley basin on Habigsborn with the Heuchelbach, a source stream of the Nidda tributary Eschbach . The Hessenpark open-air museum is located at the foot of the wide northern flank .

The Roßkopf is about 635  m high according to the top contour line . Its elongated summit ridge with a point 632.4  m high, measured near the summit, is located in the municipal area of Wehrheim. The summit region is made up of dense coniferous forest. The Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes ran over the ridge . Among other things, the foundations of a watchtower can be found here. Traffic and walking

The federal road 456 leads past the Roßberg in the northeast between Usingen and Dornholzhausen over the Saalburg pass near the Saalburg and in the southwest between Schmitten and Oberursel over the Sandplacken at the Roman fort Altes Jagdhaus the state road  3004.

The mountain can be reached with little difference in altitude over the Taunus main ridge from the southwest from Sandplacken.
