Robert Dalen

Robert Dalen (born June 14, 1844 in Breslau , † 1909 in Niesky , Oberlausitz ) was a German-Jewish officer and administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Prussia.

Life

Dalen's father W. Davidson (1802-1880) was a medical councilor in Breslau and a member of the Corps Borussia Breslau . Robert Dalen studied law at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität and became active in his father's corps in 1864 as the third of his family . He proved himself twice as a senior and headed the congress of the Kösener Seniors Convents Association the next year . He served from May 22, 1866 to May 21, 1867 as a one-year volunteer in the Prussian Army and fought in the German War . He was baptized in 1866 at the age of 22 . So he could enter the Prussian administrative service. Since 1867 court of appeal - auscultator , he participated in the Franco-Prussian War in the siege of Paris . He was released as a captain . Since 1873 court assessor , he became district judge in Wartenburg in 1874 . He switched to internal administration and came to Posen as a government assessor in 1877 , then to the administration of direct taxes in Berlin. After he had been with the Finance Directorate in Hanover (1878) and the government in Bromberg (1879), he was appointed to the government council in 1881 . In 1883 he was entrusted with the provisional management of the district office of the Ober-Lahn district . In 1884 he came to the High Presidium of the Brandenburg Province in Potsdam. On October 1, 1887, he became provisional, and on April 13, 1888, he became district administrator in the Insterburg district . On June 4, 1890, he went to the government in Königsberg as a senior government councilor . Finally, he was appointed senior president and deputy to the senior president of the province of Saxony in Magdeburg . He retired early on July 1, 1907 at the age of 63 at his own request for health reasons , and retired to Gut Niesky near Uhsmannsdorf .

Dalen was with Gertrud Dalen geb. Friedenthal married. The marriage resulted in four sons:

  • Werner (1879–1942), lawyer, perished in the Litzmannstadt ghetto
  • Fritz (1880–1942), lawyer, committed suicide
  • Kurd (1884–1941), industrial lawyer, committed suicide
  • Ernst (1889-1916), as an aviator in the First World War fallen

Gertrud Dalen died on June 14, 1939 at the age of 82 with her son Kurd and his wife in Siegsdorf . She did not need to see the death of his and the two brothers.
