Robert H. Harris (born July 15, 1911 in New York City , New York as Robert H. Hurwitz , † November 30, 1981 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor.

Life

Robert H. Harris starred on Broadway in 1948 in the musical Look, Ma, I'm Dancin '! with and took over the role of Lord Hastings in Richard III in 1949 . From 1950 he had numerous appearances in television series and mostly played shady, if not evil characters. Between 1953 and 1956 he played the role of Jake Goldberg in the comedy Molly , one of his few sympathetic roles.

Noteworthy are eight appearances in Alfred Hitchcock Presents between 1956 and 1961 and six appearances in Perry Mason between 1958 and 1965. In between he also returned occasionally to Broadway and was involved in the 1964 unsuccessful musical Foxy . He had other television appearances in the television series 77 Sunset Strip , Ben Casey and the western series A Thousand Miles of Dust . He had an important supporting role in 1965 Edward Dmytryk's film The 27th Floor .

In 1977 he retired. Harris was married twice, most recently until his death with his colleague Viola Harris (1926-2017).
