Robert Walker Junior
Robert Hudson Walker junior (born April 15, 1940 in Queens , New York - † December 5, 2019 in Malibu , California ) was an American actor .
life and career
Walker was the son of the actor couple Jennifer Jones and Robert Walker , who separated when their son was three years old. Through his mother's marriage, Walker junior later became the stepson of film producer David O. Selznick . He attended the renowned Lawrenceville School near Princeton and studied acting at the Actors Studio in New York in the early 1960s . Walker tried to build his own reputation as an actor independently of his famous parents, which he only partially succeeded in because he looked very similar to his father, who had died in 1951.
Walker Jr. had one of his first leading roles in Operation Pacific (Ensign Powder) alongside Walter Matthau and Larry Hagman ; this film, which was supposed to make him a star, was not very popular with critics. In the same year he won the Golden Globe in the “Best Newcomer” category for portraying 'Dominic' in the film Breakfast on Death Row (The Ceremony). Other roles followed as a young explosives expert and alcoholic on the side of John Wayne and Kirk Douglas ' in the western The Powerful (1967), as a leading actor in The Merciless Avenger (Young Billy Young, 1969) with Robert Mitchum and Angie Dickinson , and a supporting role as hippie Jack in Easy Rider . In addition to film roles, his career was also largely shaped by guest appearances in television series such as Bonanza , Mord is her Hobby , Columbo , LA Law and Time Tunnel . Perhaps his best-known series role was that of the rebellious youth, Charlie X 'in the same spaceship Enterprise - result from the year 1966th
After Walker had not been in front of the camera since the early 1990s, he played the role of an agent in the B-movie thriller Heaven's War in 2018 . This was his last of more than 75 film and television productions. From three marriages, Robert Walker junior had a total of eight children. He died in Malibu in December 2019 at the age of 79.
