Rockwood is a city in Wayne County in the US state of Michigan . In 2000 Rockwood had 3442 residents.
geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , Rockwood has an area of 7.0 km² , all of which is land. Rockwood is north of the Huron River , which meanders northwest to southeast forms the southwestern city limits and at the same time forms the border with Monroe County . However, the urban area is also drained by the Silver Creek and the Smith Creek .
Through the urban area that leads off Interstate 75 , the day the Canadian National Railway is part of Detroit and Toledo Shore Line Railroad and parallel to a line from Conrail .

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Rockwood inhabited 3442 people. The population density was 492.2 people per km ². There were 1353 housing units at an average of 193.5 per km². The Rockwood population was 95.64% White , 0.64% Black or African American , 0.99% Native American , 0.61% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0.96% said they were races and 1.16% named two or more races. 2.53% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
