Cartoon I'm sorry guys! It was just an idea from me ...

This caricature, which was created in January 1990, was published for the first time in the first " Western edition" of the weekly EULENSPIEGEL in April 1990 (issue 15/1990). The caricature was supposed to be on the front page, but at the time the editorial team was concerned about whether a satirical booklet with Karl Marx on the front page would sell in the West. The original drawing (100 × 70 cm, at that time still without a red vest) was exhibited for the first time in 1990 in the Berlin gallery on Chamissoplatz , then in the Elefantenpress gallery in Zossener Strasse 32 in Berlin-Kreuzberg and in the "Karigrafie" at the television tower in Berlin. The caricature was judged by the jury of the last GDR satire biennial in Greiz in March 1990.

The caricature is also included in the collection of the German Bundestag , which has the world's largest collection of caricatures.
