Rolf Marnitz

Rudolf Wilhelm "Rolf" Marnitz (born December 6, 1925 ) is a German actor , director , radio play and voice actor .

Life

After training as an actor and studying singing at the Hochschule für Musik Berlin , Marnitz worked for Erwin Piscator as assistant director for a while . Nevertheless, the focus of his artistic work is not on the stage, but on the radio . For more than 15 years he worked as a director at the SFB . In addition, he lent his voice to numerous radio play characters. He often worked on Kurt Vethake's productions for radio play labels such as Fontana, KIOSK , Maritim and Karussell. He embodied various literary figures such as the "Brion de Bois-Guilbert" in Walter Scott's Ivanhoe , the "Father Jaguar" in Karl May's The Legacy of the Inca , the "Porthos" in Alexandre Dumas ' The Three Musketeers , the "Captain Bligh" in Mutiny on the Bounty and the "Harry Marsh" in James Fenimore Cooper's Wildslayer . Marnitz often spoke several roles in these productions, with the pseudonyms "Gerhard Zimran" and "Rolf Taunus" being used for the cover in addition to his real name.

As a voice actor he lent his voice to Michel Aumont in Mado , Robert Rietty in The Omen , Ivan Rassimov in Mondo Cannibale , Ben Piazza in The Bears Are Losing, and William Beckley as the butler in The Denver Clan .

Marnitz can also be seen regularly in film and television productions. He starred in Fritz Genschow's adaptation of the Sleeping Beauty material , in Robert Siodmak's escape drama Tunnel 28 , in the television play Investigations against Unknown by Günter Wallraff , in The Twins from Immenhof and in Dito Tsintsadze's crime film Gunshot .
