Ronaldo Augusto Vieira Nan (born July 19, 1998 in Bissau , Guinea-Bissau ) is an English - Portuguese football player . The midfielder is under contract with Sampdoria Genoa in Italy and is an English junior international.
Origin and family
At the age of five, Vieira emigrated with his mother from Guinea-Bissau and settled in Portugal . In 2011 the family moved to England because of career prospects .
His first name and that of his twin brother Romario Vieira are a tribute to the former Brazilian internationals Romário and Ronaldo . Romario Vieira is also a soccer player and has played with his twin brother at Leeds United since 2016.
Career

While growing up in Portugal, Vieira joined the Benfica Junior Academy in Lisbon . After moving to England, he ran for Whitley Bay Boys Club and Batley Phoenix . He also completed unsuccessful trial training at Hull City and Manchester City . While studying, Ronaldo Vieira joined i2i Football Academy and after a trial session he joined Leeds United . On May 5, 2016, he received his first professional contract. Two days later he was substituted on in the Football League Championship (second division) against Preston North End in the 89th minute for Stuart Dallas . Vieira made 63 appearances for Leeds United in two years and scored one goal.
On August 1, 2018, he moved to Sampdoria Genoa in Italy and signed a five-year contract.
National team
On January 28, 2017, Vieira stated that he favored a mission for Portuguese national teams, but that he was open to working for the English national teams. As a result, he completed eight missions for the English U-20 national team . In the meantime, he said that he changed his preferences and, after talking to his family in Portugal, opted for England. On June 1, 2018, Vieira played for the English U-21 national team for the first time during the Toulon tournament against Qatar and scored his first goal in the 4-0 win with the 2-0 goal.
