For the 2012/13 season Atalanta Bergamo concluded co-ownership with Juventus Turin and awarded Gabbiadini to FC Bologna . There he came to 30 league appearances in which he scored six goals. For the 2013/14 season , Sampdoria Genoa bought 50% of the transfer rights from Atalanta Bergamo. By December 2014 Gabbiadini had 47 league appearances for Sampdoria and scored twelve goals.

On January 5, 2015 Gabbiadini moved to SSC Napoli . The previous partners Sampdoria Genua and Juventus Turin shared the transfer fee.

National team

After Gabbiadini had completed three internationals for the U-20 national team of Italy in 2010, he made his debut on November 17, 2010 in a 2-1 win against Turkey for the U-21 selection of his home country. He quickly established himself as a regular player in the Italian U-21s and also appeared as a regular goal scorer. The striker achieved three international matches with one goal each; in the 7-2 win against Liechtenstein on October 6, 2011 , he scored a hat trick for the first time . In June 2013 Gabbiadini won the runner-up title at the European Championships in Israel with the team trained by Devis Mangia , after they had to admit defeat to Spain 2: 4 in the final .

On August 15, 2012 Gabbiadini debuted in the international match against England in the Italian senior team under Cesare Prandelli . After more than two years, Gabbiadini came to other missions for the national team and completed test and European Championship qualifiers under Prandelli's successor Antonio Conte , but was not nominated for the 2016 European Championship . Under Gian Piero Ventura , who followed Conte, he was used in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup . After Italy finished second behind Spain in the group , the team faced Sweden in the play-offs . After a 0: 1 in the first leg, the World Cup was missed by a 0: 0 in the second leg. In the latter, Gabbiadini was in the starting line-up and played his last game so far.
