Karol Linetty (born February 2, 1995 in Żnin , Bydgoszcz Voivodeship ) is a Polish football player . He plays in midfield preferably as Central midfielder. Since July 2016 he has been playing for the Italian champions from 1990/91 , Sampdoria Genoa .
Career
society
Karol Linetty played in his youth for Sokół Damasławek until 2006, before moving to the youth academy of the first division club Lech Posen in 2006 at the age of 11 . There he made the leap to the first team in the 2012/13 season , but was only used primarily in the second team, which plays in the separate youth league Młoda Ekstraklasa . On November 2, 2012, the 10th matchday of the 2012/13 season, he made his debut at the age of seventeen in the Ekstraklasa when he came on in the away game against Wisła Kraków (1-0) in the 60th minute for Szymon Drewniak . He is now a permanent fixture in the Lech Poznan team and is regularly deployed. In summer 2015 he won his first two senior titles with the championship and the Super Cup.
In July 2016 it was announced that Linetty is leaving his hometown club Lech Posen and joining the Italian first division club Sampdoria Genoa . Linetty signed a contract with Sampdoria until June 30, 2021, the transfer fee should amount to around 3.2 million euros.
National team
On January 18, 2014, Karol Linetty made his debut for the Polish national football team in the friendly against Norway (3-0) when he was in the starting line-up. In the 56th minute he was also able to score a goal to make it 3-0. After further friendlies, he made a brief appearance in a competitive match in the qualification for the European Football Championship in 2016 . In the last qualifier against Ireland, he played for the first time over the full season. Despite a broken rib in the spring of 2016, he managed to return in time and was included in Poland's squad. But he remained one of a total of five players in the squad who were not used in the tournament.
At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was part of the Polish squad . He did not play and was eliminated with the team after the group stage.
