Rootsivere (German Rootsiwere ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the third largest Estonian island of Muhu . It belongs to the rural community of the same name ( Muhu vald ) in the Saare district ( Saare maakond ).

Population and location

The place has 33 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located on the Väike väin ( Little Sound ), the waterway between Muhu and Saaremaa. Before the construction of the dam between the two islands in 1894–1897, the route to Saaremaa led through the village.
