Rosemarie Scheurlen
Rosemarie Scheurlen born Schendel (born October 10, 1925 in Glatz ) is a Saarland politician ( FDP ). She was married to Paul Gerhardt Scheurlen , is Protestant and has three sons.
Profession and Politics
Rosemarie Scheurlen studied medicine in Tübingen from 1947 to 1953. She wrote her dissertation on the subject of parathyroid glands . In 1953 she married the internist Paul Gerhardt Scheurlen with whom she moved to Homburg in 1970, since he became Professor of Internal Medicine I there .
From 1977 to 1985 she was Minister for Labor, Health and Social Affairs in the Röder VI and Zeyer I , II and III cabinets . In 1983 she could have moved into the 8th Saarland state parliament as a successor , but she did not accept the mandate.
Scheurlen then chaired the Council of Experts from 1986 to 1988 to assess developments in the healthcare sector .
Awards
Rosemarie Scheurlen has been awarded the Great Cross of Merit .
