history

Rosendorf is first written in 1187 as Pócsfalu (falu = village) in a document from Pope Urban III. , together with Weichselbaum, Jennersdorf and Mogersdorf as a Meierhof belonging to St. Gotthard .

Due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Pócsfalu had to be used from the 1898th

Until 1921, Rosendorf belonged to German West Hungary like the whole of Burgenland . After the end of the First World War , the municipality was awarded to Austria on the basis of the treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. Rosendorf received the German name Potschendorf until 1929 . According to an ordinance of the Burgenland state government of July 16, 1929, the name was changed to Rosendorf .

As a result of the “ Anschluss ” to the German Reich , Burgenland was dissolved in 1938. Until 1945, the communities belonged to the Feldbach district , Gau Steiermark .

After the end of the Second World War until the end of 1970, Rosendorf was again an independent municipality. On January 1, 1971, in the course of the municipal structure improvement law, together with the previously autonomous municipality of Krobotek, the municipality was merged to form the large municipality of Weichselbaum.

Construction work began at the end of the war. Electrification took place from 1947 to 1950, after which water pipes were built. Rosendorf received a sewerage system in 1968 as the last cadastral community of Weichselbaum. In 1993 a children's playground was built.
